Abstract:
Plumbogummite was found in the oxidation zone of the Szűzvár Mine, Pátka, Velence Mts., Hungary. The mineral forms crystallized crusts in fissures, intergrown with and overgrown by pyromorphite. Plumbogummite crystals are colourless to white or very pale brown. Microprobe analysis and the H2O calculation leads to the structural formula Pb1.08Ca0.02Al2.93 [(OH)6.29|PO3(OH)0.86 |PO4]×0,98H2O. XRPD data confirm the identification of the mineral. This is the first occurrence of plumbogummite in Hungary.
